Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews & Chris Stapleton Set For T.J. Martell Foundation Gala

Three of Red Light Management’s biggest stars will help celebrate the company’s founder next month.

Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews and Chris Stapleton are set to perform at the T.J. Martell Foundation’s 51st annual New York Honors Gala on September 15 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The event will honor Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw with the Lifetime Music Industry Award.

Capshaw’s ties to all three performers run deep. He founded Red Light Management in 1991 while working with Dave Matthews Band, helping guide the group from its early days in Charlottesville to becoming one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades. Red Light’s current roster also includes Anastasio’s Phish and Stapleton, along with acts such as The Strokes, Primus, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Alabama Shakes.

The New York Honors Gala serves as the T.J. Martell Foundation’s primary annual fundraiser. The organization brings together music industry leaders, philanthropists and cancer researchers to support high-impact cancer research. Since its founding in 1975, the foundation has raised nearly $300 million for research at leading hospitals.

“I’ve spent my career surrounded by talented and generous artists, and this night will be one more example of their generosity,” Capshaw said. “I’m grateful to Trey, Dave and Chris, and to the T.J. Martell Foundation for over fifty years of funding the research that helps save lives.”

The gala’s board chair Steve Gawley also highlighted the music community’s role in supporting the foundation’s mission.

“The T.J. Martell Foundation is special because of the extraordinary way the music community rallies around our mission,” Gawley said. “Coran has been a tremendous friend to the Foundation, and the generosity of the superstar artists who join us makes these evenings truly remarkable.”
