Strangefolk and Assembly of Dust co-founder Reid Genauer announced the upcoming release of two new albums, Angels and Alibis and The Promised Hour. Genauer will perform songs both old and new during a three-night residency at Boulder’s The Roots Music Project April 26 – 28 in which he promises material written over three decades with no repeats.
Angels and Alibis is a “new” studio album produced by The Mother Hips‘ Greg Loiacono. Reid Genauer was originally slated to release the record in 2021 but decided to delay its arrival. Now due out in June, the LP is available for pre-order through a Kickstarter campaign. Genauer is backed on the 12-track record by The Extended AOD “We Band” featuring Loiacono (guitars and vocals), Jim Bogios (drums and percussion), Brian Rashap (bass) and Danny Eisenberg (piano, organ and keys). Genauer previously issued the title track in 2020.

Performances of “Burned Down,” “Tavern Walker,” “Elixir,” “Dance,” “Amplified Messiah,” “15 Arrows,” “Filter,” “Mudspring Draw,” “King Harvest” and “Low Country – Move Your Feet” and “Lose Your Mind” are featured on The Promised Hour. Genauer’s “1970’s Naughty Angel” reward on Kickstarter includes vinyl of Angels and Alibis, Fables and Alibis, The Honest Hour and The Promised Hour.
Reid Genauer will show off his skills as a singer, songwriter and storyteller April 26 – 28 at Roots Music Project (Performing Arts Center). Single-Night, Three-Night and Three-Night VUIP tickets (entry to the shows and pre-show parties for “two very unimportant people”) on sale now.
