Pro-Shot Video: Disco Biscuits Cover Grateful Dead, Men At Work, Frank Zappa & More At Camp Bisco

The 2016 installment of Camp Bisco came to a close on Saturday at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Hosts The Disco Biscuits played three sets and an encore featuring plenty of jams and a wide range of covers to help close out the festival.

The jamtronica pioneers opened their afternoon set with a cover of Frank Zappa’s “Pygmy Twylyte” which they worked in an inverted “Humuhumunukunukuapua’a.” Up next came the quartet’s third-ever cover of a blues tune popularized by the Grateful Dead, “Viola Lee Blues.” TDB hadn’t played “Viola Lee” since 2014. The daytime set concluded with “Shelby Rose” and “Little Betty Boop.”

Brownie, Barber & Co. kicked off the second set with “Sweating Bullets” followed by the 2016 debut of “Minions.” From there, “Pimp Blue Rikkis” led into an insane “Aceetobee” that featured two cover debuts within. First up was the foursome’s take on the ’80s hit “Down Under” (Men At Work) and after returning back to “Aceetobee” tDB fit in their first-ever version of Grandmaster Flash & Melle Mel’s “White Lines.” Watch Bisco’s second set of Saturday:

The Disco Biscuits’ final set of the weekend was disrupted by lightning that caused a 45 minute delay as they were ending “Cyclone.” A massive “Little Shimmy In A Conga Line” sandwich served as the main course of tDB’s finale with “Cyclone,” “Basis For A Day” and “Tricycle” within. In fact, The Disco Biscuits would wind up splitting “Basis For A Day” into three parts. The first part was the peak > the intro > the beginning, while out of “Tricycle” they would perform the middle of the tune and then they concluded the set with the “Basis” ending. For the encore the Disco Biscuits said farewell with “Story Of The World.” Watch pro-shot video:
