Watch Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Go ‘South Of Here’ On ‘Fallon’

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as musical guests on Monday’s episode. The band led by frontman Nathaniel Rateliff performed the title track to their latest album, South Of Here.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats recorded South Of Here with producer Brad Cook at Sonic Ranch outside El Paso, Texas. Rateliff wrote all 11 original songs making up the album’s tracklist.

“South Of Here” was one of the last songs Rateliff composed that made it on the record. The lyrical subject matter of what became the title track deals with resilience and transformation.

“So much has changed in my life and for us as a band, and I’m grateful for it,” Rateliff stated. “At the start of my career, it felt like the bottom was going to drop out and now, for the moment anyway, it seems to be sustainable. But when things become too much for me, I think about disappearing and just never getting onstage again.”

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will play their next concert when they take the stage together on Thursday, March 27 at Madison Square Garden. Gregory Alan Isakov, who recently released a single with Rateliff, will support the MSG show.
