Watch Bob Weir, Dawes & Lucius Join Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats In Los Angeles
The collaborative concert happened on Friday at the Kia Forum.

Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats were joined by Grateful Dead/Dead & Company guitarist Bob Weir during their concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Friday night. Dawes' Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith and Lucius' Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe also joined frontman Nathaniel Rateliff and his bandmates at The Forum.
Weir, who has shared the live stage with Rateliff a number of times, was first to partake in Friday’s show, emerging early in the main set. Bobby was tasked with playing guitar and helping to sing Bob Dylan’s “Slow Train.” Weir remained for the subsequent staple of the Grateful Dead’s live repertoire, Buddy Holly’s classic “Not Fade Away.”

Rateliff’s longtime collaborators, vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius, were next to participate in Saturday’s show, taking the stage a couple of songs after Weir’s exit. Wolfe and Laessig added vocals to “Howling At Nothing” and “Wasting Time” from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats’ 2015 self-titled debut album.
The pair stuck around to perform “Heartless” from last year’s South Of Here and “Face Down in the Moment” from the 2021 album The Future. Dawes guitarist Taylor Goldsmith and his brother, drummer Griffin Goldsmith. The guest-aided set-closer was a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark.”
