Marcus King & Maggie Rose Lead Little Feat’s Guest Parade At The Ryman

Little Feat launched the fall 2026 leg of The Last Farewell Tour on Thursday at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium with a guest-filled second set featuring Marcus King, Maggie Rose, Tommy Emmanuel, Drew Smithers and Peter Levin.

The collaborations culminated with a +15-minute “Dixie Chicken” featuring King and Rose. King contributed backing vocals and took a guitar solo before Little Feat guitarist Scott Sharrard followed with one of his own. The two guitarists then engaged in a call-and-response segment, trading licks as the performance unfolded.

King previously joined Little Feat at the Ryman in 2022 during the band’s Waiting For Columbus 45th anniversary celebration. The guitarist starred on “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now” that night and returned for the encore performance of “Let It Roll.” King revisited “Feats Don’t Fail Me Now” on Thursday, joining Rose, Emmanuel and Levin for the show-closing number.

Rose’s appearances came just two days after she helped Little Feat make its Grand Ole Opry debut. The Nashville-based singer shared vocals on “Willin’” and “Dixie Chicken” at the Opry. Thursday’s collaborations started with Rose joining an acoustic rendition of The Band’s “The Weight.” She later returned for “All That You Dream” and “Cadillac Hotel” before taking part in the closing stretch.

Tommy Emmanuel also renewed a previous Ryman collaboration with Little Feat. The Australian guitarist, who contributed to “Dixie Chicken” and “Tripe Face Boogie” at the band’s 2022 run at the venue, emerged during Thursday’s acoustic portion for “Cajun Girl.”

Marcus King Band guitarist Drew Smithers sat in later in the second set for Little Feat’s “A Apolitical Blues” > “Long Distance Call” > “A Apolitical Blues” sequence. Nashville-based keyboardist Peter Levin, a frequent Marcus King Band collaborator and longtime member of Gregg Allman’s solo band, followed on a pairing of “Spanish Moon” and “Skin It Back.”

Little Feat played Thursday’s entire first set without guests. “Fat Man In The Bathtub” opened the concert and was followed by “Let It Roll,” “Oh Atlanta,” “Old Folks Boogie,” “Rock And Roll Doctor,” “Shipwrecks,” “Midnight Flight,” “Long Distance Love,” “Time Loves A Hero” and “Day Or Night.”

The second set began acoustically with “Easy To Slip” and “Running Out Of Time With The Blues” before the guest appearances started with Rose on “The Weight.” Little Feat continues The Last Farewell Tour tonight in Asheville, North Carolina.
