John Mayer Debuts Shimmering New Song ‘In The Neighborhood’ In St. Paul

John Mayer unveiled a new song, “In The Neighborhood,” at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday. The debut came about halfway through the singer-songwriter’s main set on his solo acoustic tour stop.

Mayer launched the show with his go to opener on his premiere solo acoustic tour, “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room.” The guitarist did throw in some variation including his first cover of Jackson C. Frank’s “Blues Run The Game,” since 2019, as per SetlistFm stats.

Mayer offered the “In The Neighborhood” debut in the 11th song slot just ahead of his piano segment. The tune boasted shimmering finger-picking and a sing-song refrain capped with a spirited strummed coda.
