Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit unveiled the mournful new single “Middle Of The Morning.” The track is the second to be released from Weathervanes, a studio album that arrives on June 9 through Southeastern Records/Thirty Tigers.

“Middle Of The Morning” is one of 13 songs Jason Isbell wrote and produced for the follow-up to 2020’s Reunions. Isbell and his bandmates — bassist Jimbo Hart, keyboardist Derry deBorja, drummer Chad Gamble and guitarist Sadler Vaden — assembled at Blackbird Studio in Nashville to record Weathervanes. Guests include Amanda Shires, Mickey Raphael, Sylvia Massy & Ian Rickard and Morgan O’Shaughnessey. Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit previously unveiled Weathervanes lead single “Deathwish.”

Jason Isbell penned “Middle Of The Morning” while locked down during the pandemic. “It was about trying to keep my mind from unraveling over the couple of years there,” stated Isbell.
