“We’re gonna do this one for our crew,” Jason Isbell said from the stage before the final song of his concert last night at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois. “Our crew likes this song, so we’re gonna do it for them,” the guitarist added ahead of launching into “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” by The Rolling Stones.
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit had last played The Stones’ classic in 2021, according to Setlist.fm stats. The band recorded the lengthy song off Sticky Fingers during a session held in Nashville in November 2016 at Welcome to 1979 and later released in 2021 on the EP, Live At Welcome To 1979.
