Sturgill Simpson Readies Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds 2026 Tour

Sturgill Simpson is preparing to embark on his upcoming Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds Mutiny For The Masses Tour, kicking off September 4 at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Tickets for the 29-date run across North America are available now.

The last time Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds hit the road, GQ called it an “intensely physical marathon performance that created a can’t-miss musical happening.”

This time, the band returns with longer sets and no opening acts, just the group playing as hard and relentlessly as possible from start to finish.

Among the stops the Mutiny For The Masses Tour will make include the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Ball Arena in Denver, United Center in Chicago, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TD Garden in Boston, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, State Farm Arena in Atlanta and Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.

The run wraps with a home state show for Simpson, slated for October 30 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.

Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds will employ Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange and AXS Resale, which allow fans to resell tickets to other fans at the original price paid.

Simpson recorded Mutiny After Midnight at Easy Eye Sound in Nashville. Simpson produced the sessions while accompanied by The Dark Clouds – drummer/vocalist Miles “Easy Luvin” Miller, guitarist Laur “Little Joe” Joamets, bassist Kevin “Black Daddy” Black and keyboardist/saxophonist Robbie “Raw B” Crowell.

In 2024, Simpson introduced his “Johnny Blues Skies” persona with the album, Passage Du Desir. Johnny Blue Skies & The Dark Clouds toured extensively in support of the album, playing continuous three-hour-long shows across North America and Europe.
