Out Of The ‘Ordinary’: Alex Warren Joins Ed Sheeran In San Diego

Alex Warren reunited with mentor Ed Sheeran last night during the English singer-songwriter’s Loop Tour performance in San Diego. Sheeran brought Warren out for a duet on his song “Ordinary” towards the end of his concert at Petco Park.

Warren has frequently named Sheeran as one of his biggest musical inspirations. The pair met at Coachella in 2025, where they performed “Ordinary” together at Sheeran’s Old Phone Pub pop-up set. “There’s like one song every year that blows my socks off, and it’s this one,” Sheeran said of “Ordinary” in a comment on a video of the collaboration posted on Instagram the same day. They’re remained connected with Warren frequently emailing Sheeran for advice.

The “Ordinary” performance in San Diego opened the final A Stage portion of Sheeran’s main set. Alex Warren emerged to huge cheers from the crowd before singing his breakthrough 2025 hit with Sheeran. Warren and Sheeran were backed by Irish folk band Beoga for the duration of the song.

Earlier, Sheeran dusted of “Sunburn” by fan request. The pop star hadn’t played the bonus track from deluxe edition of his debut studio album since 2021. Sheeran popped back and forth between the A and B Stages, with Beoga accompanying him on a six-song run in the middle of the show. The Brit nodded to the MLB ballpark hosting the show by wearing a Padres jersey for his three-song encore.
