Ed Sheeran Crashes Maisie Peters’ Melbourne Show For Surprise Duet

Maisie Peters reunited with her “boss,” Ed Sheeran, last night during her concert in Melbourne. The pair dueted on Sheeran’s “Castle on The Hill” towards the end of the show at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre.

Peters’ Australian run comes as part on her Before The Bloom Tour, while Ed Sheeran wraps his Australian Loop Tour tonight in Adelaide. The British pop songstress is touring in support of her forthcoming album, Florescence, which arrives on May 15.

Maisie Peters shared a clip of the joint “Castle On The Hill” performance of her Instagram. “[T]hank u @teddysphotos [Ed Sheeran] for singing the best song ever with me at my show in melbourne tonight,” Peters wrote. “[S]till remember watching you play this one all 60 something gigs we did together, and it was so magical getting to join you on it for one,” Maisie added in reference to her time spent opening for Sheeran in 2023.

Ed Sheeran originally released “Castle On The Hill” on his 2017 studio album ÷ (Divide). Peters is signed to Sheeran’s Atlantic UK imprint Gingerbread Man Records. The pair last shared the stage in 2023, when Sheeran joined Peters for a performance of his song “Lego House” at her gig at OVO Arena Wembley in London.

Maisie Peters introduced Ed Sheeran by noting her first trip to Australia was while opening for him in 2023. “He took me on tour, he took me around the world. It was honestly the time of my life, I learned everything I know now from him,” Peters said.

“He’s been a huge part of my journey. I was signed to his label when I was 21 and we’ve made three albums together. He’s just the most amazing and generous and warm friend,” she continued.
