The Disco Biscuits Set ‘Revolution In Motion’ With Erin Boyd At Great South Bay Fest

The Disco Biscuits capped the first leg of their 2024 Summer Tour with a performance last Saturday at the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue, New York. Vocalist Erin Boyd was recruited for an extensive collaboration featuring songs from Bisco’s recently released space rock opera Revolution In Motion.

An inverted “Astronaut” segueing into “Rock Candy” was the entryway into the Disco Biscuits’ main stage set. The foursome –- guitarist Jon Gutwillig, bassist Marc Brownstein, drummer Allen Aucoin and keyboardist Aron Magner — was then joined by Boyd, who previously sat in with Bisco at the Revolution In Motion release show in March that featured the first complete performance of the rock opera.

Reprising the role of “The Queen,” Boyd began her guest spot with a performance of “Twisted In The Road.” Boyd remained as the band transitioned into Kx5’s “Escape,” a first-time performance by the Disco Biscuits following a recent debut by their instrumental project Tractorbeam.

A seamless move into another Revolution In Motion track, “Why We Dance,” kept the Boyd collab going. Bisco then went into “In The End We Have Forever,” giving Boyd a chance to help sing the newly unveiled lyrics to the initially instrumental song.

The rest of the set saw the four members of the Disco Biscuits cap their performance with “Helicopters” surrounding “Another Spin.”
