Death From Above 1979 Confirms New Album ‘Private Lives’ & 2027 Tour Dates

Death From Above 1979 continue their 25th anniversary celebration by detailing a new album, Private Lives, arriving January 29, 2027 through their original label Last Gang/MNRK. The rock duo are set to tour around Private Lives, previewed today with the title track, early next year.

Private Lives is DFA 1979’s first studio album since 2021’s Is 4 Lovers and their fifth overall. The title track arrived with a music video directed by Eva Michon and starring actor Kim Bodnia.

“Our new 10-song LP, Private Lives, represents a renewed commitment to the pure industrial magic of electricity,” DFA 1979 stated. “We’ve never been able to do anything halfway. Much like Kim Bodnia’s dance performance in the video for the lead single, it’s all or nothing for us.”

“The song ‘Private Lives’ is a declaration of privacy in an era of overexposure,” the band continued. “We are compelled, often by one another, to share our most intimate moments and quietest thoughts. To what end? More often than not, to be part of a cheap consumer feedback loop. Ultimately though, it’s just a ripping rock song with maniacal riffs!”

Death From Above 1979 launch the 2027 North American Tour around Private Lives, which includes several dates rescheduled from their 2026 Fall Tour, on February 2 at The Marquee in Tempe, Arizona. The winter trek concludes on March 31 at the Crocodile in Seattle.

DFA 1979 will make additional stops in California, Ontario, Quebec, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Oregon.
