Details Emerge Regarding Prince’s Paisley Park Contents & Tours

As reported, on October 6 the doors to Prince’s famed Paisley Park compound will be opened to the public for tours. Several details have emerged regarding what fans can expect to see on the tour as well as what exactly The Purple One left behind at his facility in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Rolling Stone has offered more information about what Prince intended for Paisley Park. The musician who tragically died at age 57 in April reportedly left many notes about what how he wanted Paisley Park to be opened for the public to explore.

“We’re seeing e-mails he sent four months before his death that say how he wanted it,” a source reportedly told Rolling Stone. “He wasn’t foreshadowing anything. [But] he always wanted his fans to come here. He left us a big road map.”

The article also credits a source with stating “thousands upon thousands” of tapes, including unreleased music and videos, have been found within the Paisley Park vaults. Speculation about the possible release of those unheard recordings remains strong with a possible musical mentioned. Other items reportedly discovered include vintage clothing like Prince’s 2007 Super Bowl halftime outfit and a 40+ page book of handwritten lyrics. Tickets for Paisley Park tours are available here.

In addition to opening Paisley Park for tours, Prince’s family also finally revealed plans for a tribute concert. The event is scheduled for October 13 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul and will feature performances by Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Chaka Khan, Christina Aguilera, Tori Kelly and others.
