Prince’s Paisley Park compound will soon be converted into a museum that will be open to the public. The facility located outside Minneapolis in Chanhassen, Minnesota will begin hosting tours on October 6.
In a statement reported by USA Today, Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson said:
Opening Paisley Park is something that Prince always wanted to do and was actively working on. Only a few hundred people have had the rare opportunity to tour the estate during his lifetime. Now fans from around the world will be able to experience Prince’s world for the first time, as we open the doors to this incredible place.
Paisley Park museum tours will be handled by Graceland Holdings, the same company in charge of Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee. Tickets for the 70 minute tours go on sale beginning Friday, August 26 at 2 p.m. CT. VIP tickets are also available. Head here for more information and to purchase passes to Paisley Park.
Mayor Denny Laufenburger of Chanhassen issued a statement that in part read “I believe that the plans for Paisley Park are in full accordance with Prince’s wishes.” View his full press release below:
