Jason Isbell and his band The 400 Unit brought their tour to The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida last Friday night. In addition to performing “24 Frames” the single from his upcoming new album Something More Than Free, the singer-songwriter paid tribute to B.B. King by covering one of the late blues legend’s most well-known songs.
After a 20-song set that featured many songs from his 2013 acclaimed LP Southeastern as well as tunes he wrote while a member of Drive-By Truckers, Isbell led off the encore with King’s “The Thrill Is Gone.” Watch Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit cover “The Thrill Is Gone,” complete with an impressive guitar solo by Isbell, captured by YouTube user Jamey Rodgers:
