Lindsey Buckingham Fuels Fleetwood Mac Reunion Speculation With Stevie Nicks Update

Lindsey Buckingham shared a promising update on his relationship with Stevie Nicks while revealing new details about Fleetwood Mac's upcoming documentary, giving fans new reason to wonder what the band’s future might hold.

Speaking with E! News at Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood event on Thursday, Buckingham said the documentary chronicling Fleetwood Mac has been a “healing process” for the group and that he and Nicks are now “talking all the time.” While he stopped short of hinting at a reunion, the comments have reignited speculation ahead of the 50th anniversary of Rumours in 2027.

Buckingham revealed making the documentary has allowed the surviving members to reflect on the band’s history. “I think that the process of making that has been a very circular, healing process for all of us,” he told E! News. “I don’t know if it will lead to something else down the line, I really wouldn’t want to speculate yet.”

Buckingham said the documentary also helped repair his relationship with Stevie Nicks following years of public tension after his departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. “All of that has been healed and worked out and Stevie and I are talking all the time now,” he added.

Buckingham was dismissed from Fleetwood Mac before the band’s 2018-19 tour, with Mike Campbell and Neil Finn joining the lineup in his place. The guitarist later filed a lawsuit against the band before reaching a settlement, and he and Nicks spent years publicly discussing their fractured relationship.

While Buckingham declined to speculate about Fleetwood Mac’s future, his remarks quickly fueled renewed speculation about whether Fleetwood Mac could reunite in some form during the band’s Rumours anniversary celebrations. The band has not performed since 2019, and members have previously suggested Christine McVie’s death in 2022 brought Fleetwood Mac’s touring career to a close.

After discussing new solo music he has in the works, Buckingham suggested 2027 could be particularly busy. “Next year should be a pretty interesting year because I think quite a few things will reveal themselves.”

Whether those plans involve Fleetwood Mac remains to be seen.
