Bruce Springsteen Launches Philadelphia Concert Film Series With 7-Song Opening Set

Bruce Springsteen released the first installment of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour (Philadelphia Freedom Cut). The seven-song concert film captures the opening sequence of Springsteen and the E Street Band’s May 30, 2026 tour finale at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

The entire 27-song concert was filmed, with three additional installments scheduled for release in sequence through the end of the year. The initial segment begins with Springsteen’s opening remarks and runs through “Streets of Minneapolis.”

Special guest Tom Morello joins Springsteen and the E Street Band on the first four songs: a cover of the Motown protest song “War,” “Born in the U.S.A.,” “Death to My Hometown” and The Clash’s “Clampdown.” “No Surrender” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town” follow before “Streets of Minneapolis” completes the first installment.

The Philadelphia performance brought Springsteen’s 20-show Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour to a close. The trek began March 31 in Minneapolis and featured Morello as a special guest at each stop. Springsteen used the concerts to speak about American democracy and current political issues while building the opening portion of each show around politically charged material.

“I’m thrilled to be releasing our final show from the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour — recorded in the birthplace of American freedom, Philadelphia, USA,” Springsteen stated. “On the tour, we rocked the house from one end of the country to the other and, while we were at it, we spoke up everywhere in defense of our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our sacred democracy.”

Springsteen wrote and released “Streets of Minneapolis” in January in response to federal immigration enforcement operations in the Twin Cities. He gave the song its live debut during a surprise appearance at Morello’s Defend Minnesota benefit at First Avenue two days later before incorporating it into the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour.

Philadelphia Freedom Cut was directed by Chris Hilson and Thom Zimny, with Zimny and Sam Shapiro handling editing. Springsteen, Jon Landau, Zimny and Adrienne Gerard produced the film. The release is dedicated to the memory of longtime Springsteen writer and biographer Dave Marsh.
