The Black Crowes Bust Out Delaney & Bonnie Cover In Arkansas

The Black Crowes made the second stop of the Southern Hospitality Tour co-headlining run with Whiskey Myers on Tuesday night at Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas. The Crowes covered Delaney & Bonnie’s “Poor Elijah / Tribute to Johnson” for the first time since October 22, 2013.

The Crowes opened with “No Speak No Slave,” the lead track from their 1992 album The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, followed by “Cruel Streak” from their 2026 release A Pound Of Feathers. The set drew heavily from The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, with “Sting Me,” “Thorn in My Pride,” and “Remedy” among the tracks pulled from that record.

The setlist presented a pair of covers mid-set. Along with the aforementioned “Poor Elijah,” frontman Chris Robinson and guitarist Rich Robinson led the band through Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle,” a staple of their live shows since it was included on their 1990 debut album Shake Your Money Maker.

The Rogers set additionally featured Amorica cuts “Ballad in Urgency” and “Wiser Time,” along with Shake Your Money Maker tracks “Jealous Again,” “She Talks to Angels,” “Twice as Hard” and the outtake “Waiting Guilty.”

For the encore, The Rolling Stones' “Bitch,” a cover first introduced to their setlist during their Japan run in April. The song appears on the Stones’ 1971 album Sticky Fingers.

A tribute to blues legend Robert Johnson, “Poor Elijah” was written by Delaney Bramlett, Jim Ford and Leon Russell and appeared on Delaney & Bonnie & Friends’ 1970 live album On Tour with Eric Clapton. Chris Robinson played acoustic guitar while leading the break out cover performance.
