Watch Willie Nelson Perform ‘Whiskey River’ & Discuss Rock Hall Induction On ‘Colbert’
The outlaw country legend will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame tonight.

Willie Nelson made his second appearance this week on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, performing one of his signature songs and chatting with host Stephen Colbert as part of Thursday’s episode. Nelson will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony held tonight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Thursday’s episode featured Nelson performing “Whiskey River,” which was written by Johnny Bush and has been a staple of Nelson’s repertoire for decades. A live recording of the song appears on Nelson’s newly released Greatest Hits collection.
Once again backing Nelson was an all-star conglomerate of his son, Micah Nelson on acoustic guitar, Don Was on bass, Terence Higgins on drums, Matt Rollings on organ, Mickey Raphael on harmonica and Paul Franklin on pedal steel guitar. Watch the “Whiskey River” performance below:

Stephen Colbert conducted his interview with Willie Nelson aboard Nelson’s notorious tour bus. Nelson talked about his pending Rock Hall induction and the crossover between country and rock ‘n’ roll. Nelson was also asked about the recent all-star concerts celebrating Nelson’s 90th birthday, which will be shown during a special broadcast on CBS on December 17.
