Widespread Panic will release their 13th studio album, Snake Oil King, next Friday, June 14. The six-song collection features the five studio singles the veteran jam band has shared so far this year plus album exclusive “Small Town.”
Snake Oil King marks Panic’s first studio album since 2015’s Street Dogs and second with drummer Duane Trucks behind the kit. The sextet recorded the LP with longtime collaborator producer John Keane at his studios in the band’s hometown of Athens, Georgia. Glenn Schick and Pete Lyman handled mastering duties.

Widespread Panic tapped visual artist Marq Spusta to create the artwork for their forthcoming LP. Spusta also designed artwork for each of the singles. “Little By Little” arrived in January followed by “Tackle Box Hero,” “We Walk Each Other Home” and “Cosmic Confidant.” Closing track “Small Town” is currently the only song featured on Snake Oil King yet to be performed live by the band.
A vinyl edition of Snake Oil King will be available for purchase at independent record stores on June 14. The six-piece will return to the stage on Thursday, June 20 to open for The Rolling Stones at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High. Widespread Panic then heads to nearby Red Rocks Amphitheatre for their annual three-night stand at the idyllic Morrison, Colorado venue June 21 – 23.
