Widespread Panic fittingly shared the studio version of their song “Halloween Face” today. The track is set to land on WSP’s second studio effort album of 2024, Hailbound Queen, due out on November 8.

Hailbound Queen follows June 2024’s Snake Oil King. Widespread Panic co-produced both records with longtime collaborator John Keane.

Panic previously previewed Hailbound Queen with their cover of Bloodkin’s “Trashy.” The single was accompanyed by WSP’s first music video in 25 years, a tribute to late Bloodkin member Daniel Hutchens. A cover of Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart” followed and will also appear on Hailbound Queen.

Widespread has performed all five tracks on Hailbound Queen live. The band appropriately debuted “Halloween Face” on Halloween 2021 in New Orleans. Now three years later to the day, Panic has shared the studio version.

It’s been an emotional year for Widespread Panic and their fans as the band cleared their 2024 schedule as guitarist Jimmy Herring undergoes treatment for stage 1 tonsil cancer. But good news arrived recently as the band announced their first new concerts since Jimmy’s diagnosis and first shows in Atlantic City since 2000 set for early 2025. Find info below.
