Watkins Family Hour released a new single, “(Remember Me) I’m the One Who Loves You” featuring Fiona Apple. The cover is set to land on Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins’ forthcoming album, Vol. II, arriving on August 19.
Watkins Family Hour announced Vol. II in June and shared a cover of Tune-Yards‘ “Hypnotized” as the lead single. The new LP sees Sara and Sean reflecting on the Watkins Family Hour’s formative time at the famed L.A. club Largo and teaming back up with the many musicians they collaborated with along the way including Jackson Browne, Jon Brion, Madison Cunningham, Lucius, Gaby Moreno, Willie Watson and more.

The new single, a cover of the Stuart Hamblen-penned Dean Martin and Ernest Tubb-recorded “(Remember Me) I’m the One Who Loves You,” sees Fiona Apple joining Sean and Sara in three-part harmony on the chorus and boasts honky-tonk piano form Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Benmont Tench and pedal steel from Greg Leisz.
“I first heard this Stuart Hamblen song while going down an Ernest Tubb rabbit hole,” Sara said of “(Remember Me) I’m the One Who Loves You.” “It’s hard for us to resist a country shuffle with attitude like this one. It’s our favorite kind of thing to sing with Fiona Apple.”
