As previously reported, guitarist Warren Haynes expects the next Gov’t Mule studio album to feature songs “that are very much departures from anything we’ve ever done.” In another recent interview, the Mule frontman further discussed the upcoming new LP which will be their first since 2013’s Shout!.
Speaking to SiriusXM at his Mountain Jam festival, Haynes revealed the band will head into the studio this coming October and November to get started recording the new album. Noting again that some songs have already been written, Warren also explained he plans to compose new songs in the coming months as well. Haynes also stated he thinks the record will almost be like “starting over.”
