Warren Haynes Band Confirms Tour Supporting New Studio Album ‘Million Voices Whisper’

Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes will release a new Warren Haynes Band studio album, Million Voices Whisper, this fall. A tour in support of the forthcoming record was announced that will span September 19 through October 12.

Joining Haynes in this configuration of the WHB includes bassist Kevin Scott, drummer Terence Higgins, saxophonist Greg Osby and keyboardist John Medeski. Keyboardist Matt Slocum was recently tapped to fill in for Medeski on tour. The newly announced fall dates are expected to see Medeski back with the band.

“This band, minus Greg Osby, just finished a new studio record and we’re hoping to have that record out late September, early October,” Haynes told The Pitch. “We’re even starting to play some of the new material from it now.”

A prior announced appearance in Canada on September 14 at Harvest Music Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick comes ahead of the Warren Haynes Band’s Million Voices Whisper Fall Tour stop on September 19 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The tour continues in the Sunshine State with shows in Fort Myers on September 20, Jacksonville on September 21, St. Petersburg on September 22 and Pensacola on September 24.

Two shows in Virginia follow with concerts on September 25 in Richmond and September 27 in Norfolk. A night in Columbia, South Carolina on September 28 precedes a return to Virginia for a performance on September 29 in Salem.

The next month begins in Washington D.C. for a show on October 3. The band then heads to Ashland, Kentucky on October 4. A busy day in Tennessee follows on October 5 with an early performance at the Mempho Festival in Memphis before a full show at The Ryman in Nashville later that evening.

A swing through the East Coast begins on October 9 in Philadelphia. A trek up through New York includes stops in Syracuse on October and Port Chester on October 11. The Million Voices Whisper Fall Tour is set to wrap in Boston on October 12.

A fan club presale begins on Wednesday, July 24 at 12 p.m. local time (code: WARRENPEACE). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 26 at 12 p.m. local time.

Haynes recently embarked on the Now Is The Time Tour featuring The Warren Haynes Band & The Dreams and Songs Symphonic Experience presenting “a full set of symphonic music and another set of Haynes’ signature rock/soul blend.”
