A series of concerts at Royal Albert Hall in London concluded on Sunday with a special Ovation performance celebrating 24 years of The Who’s Roger Daltrey hosting benefits for Teenage Cancer Trust. Fellow British rock ‘n’ roll legend Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder participated in the event and shared the stage with Daltrey for a celebratory collaboration.
Glen Hansard and Kelly Jones also accompanied Daltrey, Plant and Vedder for a performance of The Who classic “Baba O’Riley.” The collaboration came at the end of Daltrey’s set, which saw the vocalist accompanied by guitarist Simon Townshend (younger brother of The Who guitarist Pete Townshend), The Who violinist Katie Jacoby (who delivered the signature “Baba O’Riley” solo) and others.
