The Killers Cover Icehouse’s ‘Electric Blue’ With Iva Davies

The collaboration took place on opening night of The Killers’ three-show run in Melbourne.

The Killers kicked off a three-night engagement at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday night. Acclaimed Aussie rocker Iva Davies of Icehouse was brought out to perform his band’s hit song, “Electric Blue.”

Co-written by Davies and John Oates of Hall & Oates and released in 1987 by Icehouse, “Electric Blue” reached the top of the Australian charts and entered the Top 10 in the United States. A previous cover of “Electric Blue” performed by The Killers elicited positive remarks from Davies.

“That’s the most impressive cover I’ve ever seen,” Davis said. “It’s fantastic and I got to floor my son Evan. He mentioned The Killers to me over 10 years ago, so I played their cover of ‘Electric Blue’ to him and his eyes nearly fell out of his head. I’d love to meet Brandon Flowers and shake his hand.”

Davies’ wish came to fruition on Thursday when he joined The Killers for a performance of “Electric Blue.” Watch the killer collaboration below:
