The Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein recently filmed a tour of his bass rig with JamBase contributor Ryan Storm. The video was captured before tDB’s recent concert at The Town Ballroom in Buffalo, New York.
Ryan recently shared a rig tour from bassist Karina Rykman, who opened the Bisco show in Buffalo. Karina played through Brownstein’s Aguilar 8×10 bass cabinet, which is where Marc started his rig tour. Brownie noted that he began using the 8×10 after playing through one when his side project Star Kitchen opened for The Motet. Additionally, the bassist revealed he recently added sub cabinets to the system for extra thump.
Marc also ran through his pedal configuration, which he masterminds through a Voodoo Lab Ground Control unit. The bassist pointed out some of his pedals on the rack, noting some vintage pedals like his Moog Moogerflooger, his Mutron III and more. Brownie also detailed his Moog Little Phatty bass synth.
Finally, Marc gave some history on his custom five-string Elrick bass made by Chicago-based luthier Rob Elrick. Brownie reveaed that while he hadn’t seen anybody play an Elrick in the past 20-plus-years, another bass player on the jam scene now plays one.
