The Black Keys dropped by The Troubadour in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Guitarist Dan Auerbach, drummer Patrick Carney and company unveiled songs from their new album Dropout Boogie, which arrives tomorrow, at the storied West Hollywood venue.
The Keys kicked things off with “I Got Mine” from their 2008 LP Attack & Release. The band followed with “Howlin’ For You” from 2010’s Brothers as well as the El Camino favorite “Gold On The Ceiling.” The Keys continued with “Tighten Up,” “Your Touch” and “Lo/Hi” ahead of the debut of the recently released single “It Ain’t Over.” “We’re gonna play a new one from the new record for ya now,” Auerbach said before leading the band through the Dropout Boogie bop.

The Black Keys continued with Brothers’ “Next Girl” before unveiling Dropout Boogie cut “Your Team Is Looking Good.” The sole track, “Fever,” from 2014’s Turn Blue followed ahead of the lone cover of evening, a classic, “Have Love, Will Travel,” from Los Angeles legend Richard Berry. Dan and Patrick then presented Dropout Boogie lead single “Wild Child” live for the first time.
Next, The Black Keys returned to Brothers with “She’s Long Gone” and “Ten Cent Pistol” before dialing the operator on the El Camino classic, “Little Black Submarines.” The rockers kept to their 2011 LP to close out their set with “Lonely Boy,” which they dedicated to the late great John Prine.
