Tedeschi Trucks Band Postpones Wheels Of Soul Tour To 2022 & Changes Lineup

The Tedeschi Trucks Band rescheduled the sixth installment of their Wheels Of Soul tour to 2022 “due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding safe venue capacities and local regulations for the coming months.” Los Lobos replaces St. Paul & The Broken Bones on the lineup for the summer of 2022 run which also features TTB keyboardist Gabe Dixon and his trio.

Wheels Of Soul’s 2020 excursion was initially postponed to 2021 in the wake of the pandemic. Now, the tour is slated to span June 24 – July 26, 2022 with the Red Rocks dates to be announced.

“We are extremely disappointed at having to postpone Wheels of Soul again,” explained TTB guitarist Derek Trucks. “We’re all missing the energy of live music – and there’s nothing like playing these large, outdoor shows alongside bands we admire. We were really hoping to get back on stage and dive into some fun big band collaborations with St. Paul, but unfortunately, with all the uncertainty, it just couldn’t work this year.” Look for the Tedeschi Trucks Band to announce a series of socially distanced limited capacity concerts this summer.

Current Wheels Of Soul tour tickets will be honored at the new dates in 2022 with a handful of exceptions. Those with tickets for the Cincinnati show (July 11) and Red Rocks concerts (July 30 + 31) are asked to “please hold tickets and stand by for additional information,” while ticketholders for the Vienna, Virginia performances (July 21 & 22) will be refunded and gain priority access to a pre-sale for the new date: July 19, 2022. Additionally, the Wheels Of Soul concert at Delaware State Fair in Harrington, Delaware (July 27) has been canceled with all ticketholders to receive refunds automatically after April 15, 2021. Fans unable to attend the new dates are asked to contact point of purchase for refund options.

Wheels Of Soul 2022 is currently expected to begin at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida on June 26. From there, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Los Lobos and Gabe Dixon Trio will bring the run to Mobile, Indianapolis, Canandaigua (New York), Gilford (New Hampshire), Saratoga Springs (New York), New Haven, Philadelphia, Essex Junction (Vermont), Lewiston (New York), Atlanta, Vienna (Virginia), Raleigh, Charlotte, Huber Heights (Ohio) and Aurora (Illinois).

Los Lobos are no strangers to the TTB and the Wheels Of Soul tour. The East Los Angeles-based band took part in the 2016 Wheels Of Soul tour.
