The Tedeschi Trucks Band completed their seventh annual residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Saturday night. After the conclusion of this year’s run, the band has now played a total of 27 concerts at the famed Upper West Side venue. The TTB’s six-show residency in 2017 featured guest spots from Norah Jones, Trey Anastasio, John Medeski, Nels Cline, Marcus King, Jimmy Vivino, Oliver Wood, Chris Wood, Jano Rix, Doyle Bramhall II, Luther Dickinson and Carey Frank. Audience recordings of all six shows are available for your listening pleasure.
The Tedeschi Trucks Band also added four more tour dates to their early 2018 touring itinerary. On January 25 – 27, 2018 the group will play the historic Chicago Theatre in The Windy City. Also added is a performance at Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson, Mississippi on February 28. Pre-sales begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning via the band’s website.
Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi’s ensemble played a total of 110 songs over the course of the Beacon ’17 residency as per the TTB Fans’ Facebook group. Sixty-nine of that 110 total were different songs with “Don’t Know What It Means” the only tune to see action four times and “Bound For Glory,” “How Blue Can You Get,” “I Wish I Knew…,” “Laugh About It,” “Let Me Get By,” “Made Up Mind” and “Midnight In Harlem” each played three times. Debuts included the Allman Brothers Band’s “Mountain Jam,” Toots & The Maytals’ “Sailing On” and “You Don’t Know How It Feels” by Tom Petty. With that in mind, here’s each setlist and an audio recording of each night with our recap linked off the date:
