Watch Susan Tedeschi & Derek Trucks Perform National Anthem At Kentucky Derby

Tedeschi Trucks Band co-leaders Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks had the honor of performing the national anthem on Saturday before the running of the 152nd Kentucky Derby. Trucks played solo electric slide guitar while backing his wife’s stunning lead vocals.

The performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” kicked off a busy weekend for Tedeschi and Trucks. After their appearance at Churchill Downs, the pair left Louisville and headed down to New Orleans, where they sat in with The Meters late Saturday night (still wearing their derby headwear). The couple then staged a guest-filled set at Jazz Fest on Sunday.
