Watch Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame’s Chris Cornell & Sly Stone All-Star Tributes
Soundgarden members, Brandi Carlile, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson and more participated in the special performances at last weekend’s induction ceremony.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame posted footage of the all-star tributes to Soundgarden's Chris Cornell and Sly & The Family Stone's Sly Stone, performed at last weekend’s induction ceremony in Los Angeles. Members of Soundgarden, Brandi Carlile, Stevie Wonder and Jennifer Hudson were among those who participated in the special performances.
Soundgarden was part of the 2025 class of Rock Hall inductees. Cornell’s Soundgarden bandmates – Matt Cameron, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and original bassist Hiro Yamamoto – were at the ceremony to accept induction.
The members of Soundgarden performed “Black Hole Sun” with Carlile, The Pretty Reckless' Taylor Momsen and Alice In Chains' guitarist Jerry Cantrell. Momsen also led the ensemble through “Rusty Cage,” with Cameron on guitar.
The tribute to Chris Cornell ended with Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson accompanying Cornell’s daughter, Toni Cornell, on a performance of “Fell On Black Days.”

Sly Stone, a 1993 Rock Hall inductee as the leader of Sly & the Family Stone, who died in June at age 82, was also given an all-star musical tribute at this year’s Rock Hall celebration.
Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Maxwell, Questlove, Beck, Leon Thomas and Flea staged a medley of Sly & The Family Stone’s well-known hits, rolling through “Dance to the Music,” “Everyday People,” “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin),” and “I Want to Take You Higher.”

Along with Soundgarden, the 2025 Rock Hall induction class included Outkast, The White Stripes, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker and Cyndi Lauper.
Additionally, Salt N Pepa and Warren Zevon received the Musical Influence Award, while Thom Bell, Carol Kaye and Nicky Hopkins were recognized with the Musical Excellence Award.
