John C. Reilly Among Remi Wolf’s Many ‘Friends’ At Newport Folk Festival

Newport Folk Festival is typically fertile ground for collaboration each year at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island, and Remi Wolf’s set – billed “Remi Wolf & Friends” – was another guest-filled affair. The singer-songwriter’s roster of supporters included John C. Reilly, Jeff Tweedy, Maren Morris, Jesse Welles, Tiny Habits, Saya Gray, slimdan and Adam Melchor.

Actor/musician John C. Reilly fired up the crowd upon joining Remi Wolf onstage for a joyful performance of Grover Washington Jr.’s “Just The Two Of Us.” Jeff Tweedy’s contribution was his band Wilco’s song, “Either Way.”

Maren Morris sang a gorgeous rendition of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.” A cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” was aided by Jesse Welles and Tiny Habits. Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” was augmented by Saya Gray.

Adam Melchor was brought out for Tom Petty’s “Breakdown” and slimdan was recruited for Neil Diamond’s “I’m A Believer.” Remi Wolf and her friends closed out the collaborative set with The Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down.”
