Coachella organizers Goldenvoice and The Verge held the first-ever Panorama Music Festival at Randall’s Island Park in New York City this past weekend. The action got underway Friday, July 22 with main stage sets by Alabama Shakes, Major Lazor and Arcade Fire who ended their set with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band joining in on a Second Line Parade through the crowd in honor of David Bowie. Saturday’s full day of music included The National, Sufjan Stevens, Flosstradamus, Foals, Blood Orange and Anderson Paak & The Free Nationals as well as headliner Kendrick Lamar. The final day of the inaugural event was capped by an appearance from the reunited LCD Soundsystem who added a cover of Alan Vega’s “Bye Bye Bayou” to their set in honor of the late Suicide founder. Sunday also showcased sets by Kurt Vile & The Violators, Grace Potter, Sia, Run The Jewels and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats and others.
