Plans In Works For 50th Anniversary Edition Of Woodstock

Michael Lang, the co-creator of the original Woodstock festival, is currently in talks to present a 50th anniversary edition of Woodstock in 2019. Lang told the Poughkeepsie Journal “that discussions are under way with potential partners and different locations are being explored.” The impresario also mentioned an International installment of Woodstock is possible in addition to one in the states.
Lang wants to present Woodstock on annual basis moving forward after 2019. “With the prevalence of festivals out there, and all the excitement about them, maybe it’s time for that,” he said in regards to bringing back the Woodstock name for an annual festival. The original Woodstock was held August 15 – 18, 1969 on Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York. Michael Lang was also part of the team that produced Woodstock ’94 and ’99.
