Phish Wins Rock Hall Fan Vote, Class Of 2025 To Be Revealed Live On ‘American Idol’

If induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame followed the American Idol voting format, Phish would have won the prestigious honor. Instead, the band that won the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Fan Vote will have to wait until American Idol airs on Sunday to find out if they are part of this year’s class of inductees.

Phish tallied over 328,000 votes, placing them comfortably atop the Fan Vote leaderboard. The top seven Fan Vote-receiving 2025 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame nominees will be entered as part of the “fans” ballot and counted alongside other voting members’ ballots that select the 2025 Rock Hall inductees.

Joining Phish on the “fans” ballot are fellow 2025 nominees Bad Company, Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden and Chubby Checker.

Rounding out the Rock Hall 2025 class of inductees includes The Black Crowes, Outkast, Maná, The White Stripes, Oasis, Joy Division/New Order and Mariah Carey. Eligibility requirements allow for nominations 25 years after an artist or band released their first commercial recording.

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees will be revealed on American Idol, which airs live on ABC and Hulu on Sunday, April 27 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inducted singer-songwriter James Taylor will appear as a mentor on the upcoming Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-themed episode.

Phish will find out their Rock Hall fate just prior to taking the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday night, not far from where American Idol is filmed.
