UPDATE 2/13/2015: The May 29 show has sold out, but a second show on May 28 has just been added, tickets go on sale today at 7pm EST.

There’s great news for fans of Perpetual Groove today, as the band has announced their first performances since beginning an indefinite hiatus on April 5, 2013. PGroove’s final concert before the hiatus took place at their “home” venue of the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia; so it’s only fitting the group’s rebirth will also take place at the Georgia Theatre.

Perpetual Groove will end the hiatus on May 29 in Athens. To commemorate this special event, there will be a “Dinner with the Band” acoustic performance earlier that evening on the Georgia Theatre rooftop for which limited tickets are available now. In addition, PGroove have announced they will play four sets over two nights at the 2015 Resonance Music & Arts Festival in Ohio on September 25 & 26. PGroove’s appearance at Resonance will be their only festival appearance of 2015.

The band was formed in Savannah, Georgia in 1997 and really took form in 2001, when keyboardist Matt McDonald and drummer Albert Suttle joined up with co-founding members Brock Butler and Adam Perry. Butler, McDonald, Suttle and Perry are all expected to participate in the return of Perpetual Groove.

Here’s the Poltergeist-themed announcement video:

Check out the video for PGroove’s Resonance appearance:

After the hiatus started in 2013, McDonald, Suttle & Perry formed Ghost Owl, while Butler has played a number of solo shows and also formed PGrass. Butler & McDonald shared the stage together back in June, when Matt sat in during one of Brock’s solo gigs in Athens.

General admission tickets for PGroove’s return at Georgia Theatre go on sale this Friday, February 13, at noon ET though “Dinner With The Band” ducats, which includes admission to the Rooftop set as well as the actual show, are available now. Resonance tickets are on sale now. No word on what else is in store for Perpetual Groove other than today’s announcement mentioning the band will play “select dates in 2015.”
