On January 21, 2003 Perpetual Groove released the instant classic studio album Sweet Oblivious Antidote. The 10-track effort is the first PGroove album to feature the current and most well-known lineup of guitarist Brock Butler, keyboardist Matt McDonald, drummer Albert Suttle and bassist Adam Perry. On January 1, 2016 Perpetual Groove performed Sweet Oblivious Antidote in its entirety as part of a New Year’s Day concert at Terminal West in Atlanta. The quartet has released an official recording of the SOA performance via Bandcamp.
Perpetual Groove’s Sweet Oblivious Antidote features such beloved gems as “Three Weeks,” “Robot Waltz,” “Teakwood Betz” and the gorgeous title track. In addition to all 10 songs from the album, the live version of SOA includes PGroove’s signature cover of Talking Heads’ “Naive Melody (This Must Be The Place).” The performance is both a nod to the band’s beginnings, while looking forward towards a new era of Perpetual Groove.
Sweet Oblivious Antidote – LIVE is available on iTunes/AppleMusic, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon and all digital music retailers and streaming services. You can also purchase or stream the hi-res version at the Perpetual Groove bandcamp page.
