Neko Case shared “Winchester Mansion Of Sound,” the latest sample of her forthcoming studio album, Neon Grey Midnight Green. The singer-songwriter also expanded her tour surrounding the LP with a series of January 2026 North American tour dates.
Neon Grey Midnight Green is set for release on September 26 via ANTI- Records. The 12-track effort marks Case’s first new studio record since 2018’s Hell-On.
Case primarily recorded the self-produced album at her Carnassial Sound facility in Vermont. Additional sessions were held in Denver, Colorado with the PlainsSong Chamber Orchestra and in Portland, Oregon with Tucker Martine.
The emotionally charged “Winchester Mansion Of Sound” was written by Case as a tribute to her late friend and collaborator Dexter Romweber of the Flat Duo Jets. The song weaves together musical influences from Robbie Basho’s “Orphan’s Lament,” a tune which Case calls “the saddest song ever,” and the traditional “Down Down Baby” nursery rhyme.
