Neil Young & Crazy Horse continued the Love Earth Tour 2024 on Sunday, May 5 at The Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, Alabama. The setlist included beloved favorite “Like A Hurricane,” which Young hadn’t performed with a full band since 2019.

Young is backed on the Love Earth Tour by a Crazy Horse lineup featuring Micah Nelson (electric guitar, keyboards, vocals), Billy Talbot (bass, vocals) and Ralph Molina (drums, vocals). While Crazy Horse member Nils Lofgren is currently on tour with Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, he did appear with Neil and the band on the “Danger Bird” encore in Phoenix on April 27.

Sunday’s concert was the fifth stop on the Love Earth Tour. Two shows in Texas were postponed due to severe weather earlier this month. It appeared the show in Alabama may have suffered the same fate when the start of the concert was delayed due to the threat of inclement weather. However, the threat cleared and the show moved forward.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse kicked off the show in Huntsville with “Cortez The Killer” featuring alternate lyrics and “Cinnamon Girl,” the same pairing used to open each concert this tour. “Like A Hurricane” turned up in the five-slot after “Scattered (Let’s Think About Livin’)” and “Don’t Cry No Tears.”

Though Young performed his song first released on his 1977 album American Stars ‘n Bars solo once during his Coastal Tour last year, he hadn’t played “Like A Hurricane” backed by a full band since a September 2019 show with Promise Of The Real. The last version with Crazy Horse came on February 4, 2019 in Winnipeg. While Neil Young & Crazy Horse have jammed on “Like A Hurricane” for over 30 minutes in the past, they kept the take in Alabama to a mere seven minutes.

Neil Young took multiple guitar solos throughout as Nelson played organ and the rhythm section held it down. Watch fan-shot footage of Neil Young & Crazy Horse performing “Like A Hurricane” in Huntsville below:
