UPDATE: After initially rescheduling the shows for September, Young has now announced the performances will take place on May 26 in Austin and May 27 in Dallas. The text below has been updated to reflect the change.

Yesterday, Neil Young & Crazy Horse canceled Texas concerts in Austin and Dallas due to severe weather, as per Neil Young Archives. The legendary singer-songwriter and his longtime band were scheduled to play Austin last night and Dallas tonight and have rescheduled the concerts for May 26 and 27 respectively.

A note posted to Neil Young Archives, Young’s official website, stated the band’s tour would resume with their slot at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. Read below:

Too dangerous for us to put our audience in that situation. We are rolling on, with these shows coming back in September on our way to Farm Aid. We are headed to New Orleans now. Would have loved to play Texas – Austin and Dallas, but too unsafe at the moment.
