Neil Young Releases ‘After The Gold Rush 50th Anniversary Edition’

Neil Young‘s After The Gold Rush 50th Anniversary Edition is out today on CD and digital through Reprise Records with a vinyl box set due on March 19, 2021. The original album has been remastered for the set, which also includes two versions of “Wonderin’.”
Young originally issued After The Gold Rush, his third solo album, on September 19, 1970. Neil recorded the LP between Winter 1969 and June 1970 at Sunset Sound, Sound City and Redwood Studios in California. After The Gold Rush was co-produced by David Briggs with Kendall Pacios.

The initial LP contains 11 tracks. Contributors include Danny Whitten, Nils Lofgren, Jack Nitzsche, Billy Talbot, Greg Reeves, Ralph Molina, Stephen Stills and Bill Peterson. After The Gold Rush featured such classic songs as the title track, “Don’t Let It Bring You Down,” “Only Love Can Break Your Heart” and “Southern Man.”
After The Gold Rush 50th Anniversary Edition includes a previously unreleased version of “Wonderin'” recorded at Sunset Sounds in August 1969. The new release also features a rendition of “Wonderin'” first issued by Young on his The Archives Vol. 1: 1963-1972 box set that was laid down at Redwood Studios in March 1970.
