Neil Young Shares Previously Unreleased ‘Powderfinger’ From ‘Archives Volume II’

Neil Young previewed his upcoming Archives Volume II: 1972 - 1976 131-track collection by unveiling a previously unreleased version of “Powderfinger” from the box set. Archives Volume II: 1972 – 1976, which is sold out, is due on November 20.
While Neil originally released “Powderfinger” on 1979’s Rust Never Sleeps, the version below was recorded in 1975 as per a tracklist for the forthcoming box set. “Powderfinger” appears on Dume, the eighth of 10 discs included in Archives Volume II: 1972 – 1976.

The “Powderfinger” below is one of 50 previously unreleased versions of tunes featured on Archives Volume II: 1972 – 1976, which also contains 12 songs previously unreleased in any form. Young dropped two of those, “Homefires” and “Come Along And Say You Will,” last month.
