Dawes & Goose Supergroup Rainbow Body Announces Debut Album & Shares ‘Strange Memory’

Rainbow Body will release its self-titled debut album on October 23. The new project featuring Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith, Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, Eric Krasno, Ross James and Adam MacDougall previewed the eight-song LP today with its first single, “Strange Memory.”

Rainbow Body was recorded at Flóki Studios in Northern Iceland after the six musicians first gathered in Topanga Canyon in January. The album is due digitally through Flóki Studios, with a limited-edition vinyl edition set to follow on January 8, 2027.

Oteil Burbridge and singer-songwriter Nicki Bluhm make special appearances on the album, which was produced by Krasno, James and Rainbow Body.

The project was created in partnership with Quoia, an alliance focused on conservation. Proceeds from Rainbow Body will benefit the North Atlantic Salmon Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting Atlantic salmon and marine biodiversity.

“‘Strange Memory’ takes place on a highway that doesn’t end,” Taylor Goldsmith stated of the album’s lead single. “When you can’t remember what you’re running from and you can’t remember what you set out to find.”

Rainbow Body will make its live debut on October 23 at Irvine Bowl in Laguna Beach, California as part of the Coast Film & Music Festival. The band formed earlier this year before revealing its lineup in August. Goldsmith had previously shared an acoustic demo of “Kicking Over the Traces,” which appears on the album.
