Dawes & Goose Supergroup Rainbow Body Announces 1st-Ever Live Show

Rainbow Body is ready to take the music to the stage.

The newly formed supergroup featuring Dawes members Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith, Goose guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno, The Terrapin Family Band guitarist/bassist Ross James and Circles Around The Sun keyboardist Adam MacDougall will play their first-ever live show on October 23 at the Irvine Bowl in Laguna Beach, California as part of the Coast Film & Music Festival.

Ignacio Maria Gomez and Garth Stevenson will open the show on October 23. The Coast Film & Music Festival’s Concerts In The Canyon 2026 series at Irvine Bowl also features Ben Harper with , G. Love and Lily Meola on October 24 and Amos Lee with Frankenreiter, G. Love and Meola on October 25.

Rainbow Body announced the performance on Monday after spending months teasing the project before revealing the band and details of its debut album last week. The October 23 appearance marks the first time the group will perform together in front of an audience.

Tickets for the Rainbow Body debut go on presale Thursday, August 27 at noon PT. Fans can comment “HANDS” on Rainbow Body’s Instagram post to sign up and receive the presale code. Tickets go on sale to the general public later in the day.

The band formed in January when the six musicians gathered in Topanga Canyon to write a record. They then traveled to Northern Iceland in February to record eight original songs at Flóki Studios near the Arctic Circle.

Rainbow Body describes its music as moving between psychedelic rock, Americana, soul, folk and improvisation. Goldsmith previously offered an early taste of the project with a stripped-down acoustic demo of “Kicking Over The Traces.” While the solo version runs a little over four minutes, the full-band recording stretches beyond eight minutes.

The project also features Dead & Company bassist Oteil Burbridge and singer-songwriter Nicki Bluhm as special guests on the album. Goldsmith had previously confirmed that Rainbow Body intended to play live but kept the group’s plans under wraps. Now the first opportunity to see the supergroup has been set.

The Irvine Bowl show comes as part of the Coast Film & Music Festival, which runs October 23 – 25 in Laguna Beach. Rainbow Body will headline the opening day, with Gomez and Stevenson serving as support. More Rainbow Body live dates have yet to be announced.
