Guitarist Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket has a solo album entitled 4th Of July coming out on August 19 through his label Stocks In Asia and Thirty Tigers. In advance of the LPs release, another single – “Rockingchair Dancer” – has been made available to stream.

Broemel, who currently is touring backing Ray LaMontagne with his My Morning Jacket band mates (minus Jim James), will play a number of solo shows later this year. MMJ bassist Tom Blankenship and keyboardist Bo Koster both contributed to 4th Of July, with Koster also contributing the record’s songwriting. Co-produced by Teddy Morgan, the LP also features contributions from Neko Case, Laura Veirs, Russ Pollard, Shelly Colvin, Richard Medek and Jordan Caress.

“I was standing over my son’s crib playing guitar trying to help him fall asleep when I came up with this song,” Broemel told Entertainment Weekly who premiered the new single. “Being around such a new human being inspired me to think back on my own childhood dreams and how they have come true in many ways, but in such a different fashion than I had imagined.”
