Improv specialists Medeski Martin & Wood wrapped a recent three-night stand in New York City with a performance at Le Poisson Rouge. The trio of shows were in celebration of the trio’s 25th anniversary and were makeup dates for the concerts scheduled last October but canceled following bassist Chris Wood’s medical emergency. The since-recovered Wood was joined by keyboardist John Medeski and drummer Billy Martin for a two set finale Wednesday. The celebratory night featured a career-spanning selection of songs including “Hey-Hee-Hi-Ho,” “Is There Anybody Here That Love My Jesus,” “Dracula,” “Wiggly’s Way” and “Uninvisible.” Photographer Nick Price was at Le Poisson Rouge Wednesday, view his gallery below.
