Margo Price teamed up remotely with Swamp Dogg (a.k.a. Jerry Williams Jr.) and eTown host Nick Forster and the eTown house band to cover the John Prine classic “Sam Stone.” The resulting footage is the latest installment of the radio program’s eTown Quarantine Sessions video series.
Price recorded her vocals at the historic Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, Tennessee; while Swamp Dogg tracked his contribution at his home studio in Northridge, California and Forster and the eTown band laid down their parts at eTown Hall in Boulder, Colorado. Both Margo and Swamp Dogg chat with Nick Forster on this week’s episode of eTown.

John Prine originally released “Sam Stone” on his self-titled debut album in 1971. Prine, who died last April of complications brought on by COVID-19, was a big supporter and friend of Margo Price.
